Fashionable is the head that wears the crown, especially if that head belongs to Queen Charlotte. In both hit Netflix series Bridgerton and Queen Charlotte: A Bridgerton Story, her highness is known for her grandiose, intricate wigs, which led hair and makeup designer Nic Collins to create a line of wigs just for the series. In this video, Collins and her assistant designer, Giorgio Galliero, take fans through the step-by-step process of building a wig, from the frame to the dyeing process to the textured curls. The pair reveal how each unique wig was painstakingly created, often resulting in 14-hour days, with a focus on “thinking outside the box” to find unusual silhouettes and textures. Actor Golda Rosheuvel emphasizes the effort and joy that went into Queen Charlotte’s show-stopping hair, calling it an “absolute honor” to celebrate the team’s work.
