There are myriad ways that Anna Sorokin — aka Anna Delvey — was able to convince some of New York City’s most powerful and elite players to part ways with their cash, and her wardrobe was a vital tool in that arsenal. The luxury and glam that viewers saw on Inventing Anna was created by costume designer Lyn Paolo. Paolo, who has been an integral part of many Shondaland series, including Scandal and How to Get Away With Murder, approached Inventing Anna by thinking about the small details of each character, their persona, and how Anna’s chameleon-like style would make her appear like a respected businesswoman, perhaps even an heiress, in order to get what she wanted.

Learn more from Paolo, along with series creator and executive producer Shonda Rhimes and stars Julia Garner, Anna Chlumsky, and Arian Moayed, on the important role that fashion plays throughout Inventing Anna.
