During the first season of Shondaland's hit Netflix series Bridgerton, you may remember that we brought you the Bridgerton Cast Questionnaire, which introduced you a bit more intimately to the many women and men who make up the characters of the hit Shondaland show. It was a part-serious, part-silly question-and-answer rundown that shed some light on what makes these actors tick and what makes their characters tock. This year, we’ve brought the Questionnaire back, naturally, to make sure you’ve got your peacocks in a row as Bridgerton’s second season ramps up for its premiere on Friday, March 25.

Colin Bridgerton — played by Luke Newton — is the third Bridgerton son, after Anthony, the eldest, and Benedict, the second in line. This leaves Colin in a bit of an awkward position as far as heirs go. He’s pretty sure it will never come down to him to take care of the family name and lineage — which is part of what got him into trouble last season with Miss Marina Thompson.

After the two parted ways, both heartbroken at the conclusion of the mini Marina/Colin tryst, Colin did what any rich white boy would do — he took off gallivanting around Europe to clear his head. (We hear Greece was a particular favorite.) But in season two of Bridgerton, Colin is back, and he’s more focused than ever.

Though we can’t say too much without spoiling what’s to come, Newton was game to take on a few questions and shed light on a few important details about both Colin and himself, including a secret talent involving his feet!

What do you have in common with your character?

LUKE NEWTON: I like to think I’m as laid-back and relaxed as Colin is in stressful situations. I also love food, as does Col.

What do you not have in common with your character?

I hope I’m not as easily led or manipulated as Colin can sometimes be.

What’s your favorite time of day and why?

Dusk, because I’m a night owl. Sometimes I feel like I should start my days at dusk. I’m full of energy and ready for anything!

What’s your character’s favorite time of day and why?

Probably breakfast, lunch, and dinnertime!

What would people be surprised to learn about you?

I can tap-dance! On my very first acting job, I was appropriately called “Happy Feet” because I used to tap to keep warm.

This season brings another part of the world, India, into the ton. Is traveling important to you? What is a place or an experience that really imprinted on you when you were traveling?

Traveling always makes me think of my family. It’s the perfect opportunity to really connect with your loved ones without the pressures of everyday life and responsibilities getting in the way. Sharing new experiences and exploring new places with friends and family is something I’ll always cherish.

When was your first time riding a horse?

As a child, I was always terrified of riding and completely avoided it. My first time was during my training for Bridgerton. It wasn’t something I took naturally to, but it’s certainly a lot of fun when you get the hang of it.

The Sharmas’ corgi, Newton, is a new addition to the world of Bridgerton. Do you have any stories about dealing with the new diva on set?

There’s only one diva on the Bridgerton set, and it’s certainly not me! To be honest, I love having a dog on set. It makes me feel like I’m at home. One time, I remember there was lots of barking over a scene. After some investigation, we realized Newton is a hungry boy and will continue to bark for bits of sausage until he is satisfied.

A bunch of suitors must show their hidden talent to Edwina to try to win her over. Do you have a hidden talent?

I like to sing. Although it’s not very hidden, since I do it all the time. Singing is quite a big part of our on-set life. Especially the Bridgerton family. We’re like the Regency von Trapps!

Season two of Bridgerton sees many characters taking up sports. Do you have a sport you’re particularly good at playing? And if not, is there one you’ve secretly — or not so secretly — wanted to try?

I used to play a lot of basketball at school and for my local team. I loved it. We traveled all over to play different teams around the country. I haven’t played in a few years now, so hopefully I’ve still got it. For one of the episodes, I actually loved playing pall-mall. My favorite day during that sequence was when we were told to just play the game and see what happens. It definitely brought all our competitive sides out.

What advice would you give to someone who wants to act?

Be brave and strong-willed. Create your own opportunities with like-minded people. Take every opportunity you get, because you never know where it’ll lead you.

Do you prefer to watch drama or comedy? Or perhaps you have another favorite genre altogether?

I’ll watch anything! Ideally, two different genres in one evening, and always a bit of comedy before bed.

Who was the person who most influenced you and how?

My granddad. If I can be half as kind, considerate, and genuine as him, I’d be very happy indeed.

Colin Bridgerton (Luke Newton) and Anthony Bridgerton (Jonathan Bailey) have a spar.
.

What in your opinion is the most exciting part of this work?

The endless amount of possibility. Being able to play and explore, and call it my job.

If you weren’t an actor, what do you think you’d be?

Maybe a singer. It would always have to be something in the arts for me.

Is there a character in the series, who is not your own, whom you are drawn to or can relate to?

I guess Benedict. The mischievous brother who’s interested in art (“the arts” in my case). He also has really good relationships with his siblings, as do I.
